How To Dry And Store Herbs

Published by jsfarmer at 12:26 am under Products, Shopping

Herbs

Herbs such as lavender and rosemary not only smell great, but also provide ample future uses, not only in cooking but also in sachets and other fragrant uses. Best of all, if you’re already growing them yourself, you can dry them and not have to buy dried herbs at the store.

The best way to dry and store fresh herbs is to wash and dry them, then put them on a clean paper towel and microwave them on high for 30 to 40 seconds.

Next, crumble the dried herbs and store them in an airtight container (one herb type per container). They will keep for up to three months.

So the next time you don’t know what to do with all your basil, dill, fennel, lavender, marjoram, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, tarragon or thyme, dry the fresh herbs for future uses and get more bang for your gardening buck.
